The Order of Friars Minor, founded by St. Francis of Assisi, is a fraternity. In a more complete fulfilment of their baptismal consecration and in answer to the divine call, the friars give themselves totally to God, their supreme love; through profession of obedience, poverty and chastity, which they are to live in the spirit of Saint Francis.
The Custody of St Anthony of Padua Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei was officially constituted in Singapore in May 1991, dependent on the Australian Province of the Holy Spirit. Friar Phillip Miscamble was named its first Custos. By then, the friars had been running the Church of St Mary of the Angels in Bukit Batok for 21 years.

The Poor Clares are an enclosed contemplative community of Poor Clare sisters whose monastery is in Nuns’ Island, Galway. From their beginnings in Gravelines in early seventeenth-century northern France, to Ireland of 2020, the same life of daily prayer, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, work, and community life continues today, inspired by the holy founders St. Clare and St. Francis.
