Chronicles of a pilgrim – Day 14 – Vienna
#sequelachristi2025
Our final day of the pilgrimage before making our way home to Singapore. A bittersweet ending to the wonderful two weeks we have spent in Italy/Austria, following in the footsteps of St. Francis.
We spent the majority of the day today at the Schonbrunn Palace, the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers. The sights of the interior of the Baroque palace were stunning and mesmerizing to soak in.
We then proceeded to have mass in a chapel by the main palace.
Today, we were called to reflect on how we ought to carry on with our lives after the pilgrimage ends. What are the lessons we take from it? And how should that inspire our next few weeks leading up to Christmas?
We have been travelling non-stop these past few days: new city, new hotel, one after another. There was not much time to truly sit and ponder all that we were exposed to. So now, as we prepare to go home, with our journals filled with thoughts and prayers accumulated over the past few days, we are able to give ourselves the time to read through everything once more and relive the highs we have had on this wonderful journey.
We thank God for accompanying us on our spiritual journey and for the memories made along the way. Here’s to a safe return home!
